Enhancement Provides Precision Tracking and an Increase in Flights Tracked
CINCINNATI, October 27, 2017– ARGUS International, Inc. (ARGUS), the worldwide leader in specialized aviation services, today announced an automatic dependent surveillance – broadcast (ADS-B) integration into its aircraft activity analysis and market intelligence tool TRAQPak FBO. The ADS-B integration enables more precise aircraft tracking as well as an increase in the number of flights tracked in TRAQPak FBO. ARGUS will officially roll out this new feature Monday, October 30, 2017.
ADS-B is a surveillance technology in which an aircraft determines its position via satellite navigation and periodically broadcasts it, enabling aircraft to be tracked independent of the data provided by the FAA. By 2020, the FAA has required all commercial aircraft and aircraft flying in Class A, B & C airspace to be equipped with transponders having ADS-B out capability.
“With the addition of ADS-B data in TRAQPak FBO, we now have the ability to show nearby flights and even more updated position reports,” said Shirley Mason, Executive Vice President of Market Intelligence at ARGUS International. “As the FAA’s 2020 deadline approaches and more and more aircraft are equipped for ADS-B, we will continue to expand the number of aircraft tracked. One key feature we are excited to provide to our customers is the ability to filter the ADS-B flights by their specific operational categories just like the FAA ASDI/SWIM data already provided in TRAQPak.”
Each FBO user will be able to turn this new data feature on or off as well as filter ADS-B activity by operation categories. Turning on the ADS-B feature provides users with a 300-nautical mile ring of nearby ADS-B flights. Users can hover over a ADS-B aircraft to get more detailed flight information (relating to arrivals and departures).
TRAQPak FBO is an advanced, web-based aircraft movement intelligence tool that provides live flight tracking with fully integrated functionality powered by TRAQPak’s historical aircraft activity data and analysis, FlightView aircraft movement data, and Flight Global Ascend aircraft owner/operator contact information, for more information visit, http://argus.aero/traqpak/.
